Lib Dem Councillor Cahal Burke is taking his fundraising for Yorkshire Cancer Research transatlantic this year when he runs the New York City Marathon.

Cllr Burke said:
"I'm very excited about running in one the world's biggest charity running events. It's certainly going to be an incredible experience and I'm going to pick up some ideas we might be able to adapt for the 10K next year. I've funded for the whole trip and race fee myself. Any money I raise will be going to help Yorkshire Cancer Research in the very valuable work it does. Like many people, I have family members and friends who have suffered with this terrible illness and it's very important to me to continue to support the search for a cure.
