Cllr David Ridgway will demand answers at today's council meeting to establish how well Kirklees was prepared for the arctic conditions. He will urge the Labour Cabinet to take away any lessons that can be learned and make the necessary changes to better prepare the borough for the future.

BROKEN PAVING SLABS LEAD TO BROKEN WRIST

David Woodhead, Liberal Democrat Member for Holme Valley North and Nicola Turner, Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate are calling for urgent action on a footpath in Church Street, Honley. The renewed call comes following an incident in which a local resident has fallen and broken her wrist after tripping over a raised slab.

Sheffield youngsters in European Parliament meet Diana

Two Sheffield students were amongst a group of young people from around the European Union who were born in November 1989 and who were in the European Parliament in Brussels today to celebrate the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the start of the process of democratic change in central and in central and eastern Europe.

Speech at the Academy of European Law

On Thursday Diana gave the opening speech at Academy of European Law (ERA) conference in Trier 'From Tampere and the Hague to the Stockholm Programme'. In the afternoon Diana chaired a session on 'Facilitating recognition and enforcement'.
